Olynyk searches for new coaches

Cam Charron - Sports Editor

According to a report in last Thursday’s Kamloops Daily News, athletic director Ken Olynyk will name a new women’s volleyball coach this week. Cal Wohlford served the last two seasons on an interim basis, amassing a record of seven wins and 33 losses in conference play.

The search will then turn to men’s basketball. Thom Gillespie has coached the past two seasons on an interim basis as well, with a five win, 36-loss record in conference play. Olynyk is quoted as saying that there are around 30 people who have expressed interest in that position, which is hard to believe considering the team will return only two starters to next year and will need to recruit at every single position to be competitive next season.
